At MPC, our mission is to love people to love Jesus Christ by INVITING, CONNECTING, EQUIPPING, and SERVING! We seek to love every child that comes through our doors – and to be a place they want to invite friends, where they connect with others, where they are equipped to grow in their faith and discipleship, and where they have opportunities to serve!
Our kids love ‘The Loft’!
The Loft is the place to be for our 1st – 5th graders! During each service we use 252 Basics as our curriculum – combining music, skits, teaching, activities and small groups into each hour. We desire to engage kids in the Bible and how it applies to their everyday lives – in a three year cycle they will encounter 150 key Bible stories that point to powerful truths and life applications. Come join us this Sunday! (Kids start out in worship with their families, and then are dismissed to The Loft following the Children’s Message).
We believe faith development begins at birth and that creating safe and loving environments for our youngest attendees allows them to experience the love and care of God. Our nurseries are staffed with paid workers that are background checked and LOVE our little ones! (These are the same workers that staff our childcare during mid-week classes and events) We use First Look curriculum for this age, and have a team of nursery ministry volunteers that pray over our little ones and engage them in Bible stories at an age appropriate level. Check out a video about First Look.
2 year olds – Kindergarten:
We believe in taking every opportunity to point our Preschool and Kindergarten children towards God. We continue in these rooms using First Look curriculum which points weekly to three basic truths: God Made Me, God Loves Me, and Jesus Wants to be my Forever Friend. Kids will experience Bible stories, activities, and engage in conversations. Their teachers are all background checked and excited to love Preschool and Kindergarten kids to love Jesus! Parents have the option to check their child in before worship, or to take them into the sanctuary and walk them to class after the children’s message. Check out a video about First Look.
1st – 5th Grade:
We believe the faith development that occurs during elementary years will impact the rest of their lives! These grades start out in the sanctuary with their families, and then are dismissed to The Loft after the children’s message. Check out a big picture PDF of the 252 Basics.
We believe parents are the primary faith shapers of their kids! We want to be a resource and encouragement for how you lead at home. Each week kids in The Loft will get devotions they can do at home that will reinforce the day’s theme. Parents of all ages will get Parent Cue cards that will give conversation questions for home. In addition you will want to download the Parent Cue app!
Don’t Miss It! The Parent Cue app helps parents of every stage think intentionally each week about deepening their child’s faith. Whether you are in your first week as a parent, or only have a few more to go, this app connects what we are learning at church with conversations you can be having at home. There is a blog section with free parenting articles – and a graduation countdown formatted for every child. This is a resource that will help you parent the weeks you have intentionally! Download today!
Download the app for your iphone®, ipad® or Android® device.
We believe that part of anchoring kids in faith is connecting them with the larger church. On the first Sunday of each month we celebrate The Lord’s Supper, or Communion in worship. At both services, 1st – 5th graders will be brought back in the service to sit with their families and participate in communion if you choose. Kids without a parent in the sanctuary will sit with their teachers and take communion if they have permission. We offer a Kids Discovery class each year that teaches kids what communion means and what to expect. On communion Sundays we also explain what is happening before kids are brought into the sanctuary.
Children’s Ministry Registration Form

Other Children’s Ministry Stuff:
F.R.A.T. House (Fifth Graders Racing Ahead to Tomorrow)
5th Grade is an exciting year for your child. They are starting their last year in elementary school and Middle School lies just ahead. Children’s Ministry has developed a program for 5th Graders called F.R.A.T. House (Fifth Graders Racing Ahead to Tomorrow). This program was specifically designed to help your child transition from Elementary School to Middle School in our church. Our monthly activities will give your child a taste of what is to come for next year. We have found that this program really helps your child connect to their church and with each other.
We meet on our Mandarin Road Campus on the 1st Friday of every month from 6 – 8 pm, but we do have a few exceptions so watch the Dates & Locations on the website. We serve dinner at a cost of 3.00 per student.
We will send you a postcard and an e-mail every month with the upcoming F.R.A.T. House information and events. We know your 5th Grader child will have a great time at F.R.A.T. House and encourage them to bring friends to share in the fun-the more the merrier!
Village of Bethlehem
Starting the first Sunday in December, The Loft is transformed into the Village of Bethlehem. During each service, 1st – 5th graders will experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of Bethlehem in a unique format that is designed by our Children’s Ministry team. Kids look forward to this every year and parents are invited to come back and see for yourselves what all the talk is about!
Pumpkin Jam and Eggstravaganza are the two largest community events we offer at MPC. These are great inviting opportunities where families and kids can have fun and enjoy activities centered around Fall and Easter. Trunk or Treat, inflatables, hay rides and petting zoos are just some of the things you will find. Be on the lookout for dates – you won’t want to miss!
Looking for summer mid-week fun? 1st – 5th graders come to the Mandarin Road campus from 3-5pm on selected dates for an energy filled, off the wall, summer experience. And it’s free!
Just email Kris Murphy to RSVP. An RSVP is required!
