2013 MPC OPERATING BUDGET -

The 2013 Operating Budget for Mandarin Presbyterian Church was approved by the Session on January 28 and presented at the Congregational Meeting of February 10.  Copies are available at the Information Center in the lobby and at the church office.  Any questions may be directed to Rosa Heard, 680-9953.

2013 SPRING CATALOG (April – June) –

Catalogs are now available that contain all the groups and classes we have to offer at MPC. Pick up your booklet and register for the classes or groups you would like to participate in this Spring. Catalogs are available at the information desk on the West Campus on Sundays and online at our Catalog webpage where you can register online as well.

K-KAMP SUMMER CAMP

K-Kamp registrations are open! K-Kamp is our elementary camp for kids leaving 1st-5th grades – June 16-20, 2013. For more information or to register visit the K-Kamp webpage.

6TH ANNUAL ‘MULCH 4 MISSIONS’ FUNDRAISER -

The high school program here at MPC will go to Costa Rica this summer for a one week trip to construct two homes, work at feeding centers, tutor, teach English and facilitate sports clubs. You can support this trip by purchasing your mulch through the ‘Mulch 4 Missions Youth Fundraiser. For details and information, visit the mulch webpage.

THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP (TPC) TICKETS -

Purchase your Players tickets from one of our High School students on the Costa Rica Mission Team. Each ticket that you purchase is good for any one day during the championship. The dates of the TPC are May 6-12, 2013. Normally one day ground tickets are $55 but through us you can purchase your tickets for $40 each. The TPC will donate $25 back to us and this will help our students fund their mission trip to Costa Rica. You can stop by the Mulch Table each Sunday to pick up your tickets or buy them directly from one of our High School students! Thanks for all your support. FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE -

Friday Night Live is a once a month program we are starting for families with children in grades 1-5. Each Friday starting at 6:00 p.m. on the East Campus there will be games and fun as well as learning opportunities for parents and kids. Childcare will be available for younger siblings and older siblings can assist with the program if pre-arranged with our Children’s Director. CAREGIVER’S SUPPORT GROUP

This group will meet the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month in Woody’s on the East Campus at 7pm. Contact Cornelia Dutton, 302-1355, with questions.

J.O.Y. NEWS – The J.O.Y. GROUP presents…

Dick Usher portrays the legendary Pee Wee Reese who played professional baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers. An eight-time All-Star, Reese was notably involved during the attempted 1947 petition of Dodger players threatening to boycott if Jackie Robinson joined the team. Reese refused to sign, and the petition disappeared. Reese also is known for quieting an unruly and racially insulting crowd  by walking across the diamond and putting his arm around Robinson’s shoulders.

Friday, April 26th 6:00pm on the Fellowship Hall on the East Campus. Dinner cost: $5.00

‘refresHER’ women’s conference – May 10 – 11. Event starts Friday evening and picks up again on Saturday morning, all on the West Campus in the Sanctuary. Cost is $30. For more information and registration visit the conference webpage.

April 18– Photo Scavenger Hunt at St. John’s Town Center. Meet at the café in Barnes and Noble at 7:00 pm. Bring a Friend!
 
May 10– Jacksonville Sun’s Baseball Game. Game starts at 7:05. Contact Jessica Konker by email to reserve tickets or sign up at the information booth at church.
 
June 14– Barbeque at Mandarin Park.  Meet up at 7:00 pm  for barbeque, Frisbee and fun. Bring your favorite picnic side, we’ll provide the burgers, hot dogs and drinks.

College and Young Adult Mission Trip to New Orleans

Come join us for an exciting trip to New Orleans over Memorial Day Weekend (May 23-27). We will be working with habitat for humanity, and working in local ministry shelters and soup kitchens. This will be an awesome chance to serve, fellowship, worship, and see the sights of New Orleans! The cost for the trip is $185. This includes food, travel, and housing. Pray about if God is calling you to come and register by April 7 by emailing Jessica Konker.

Are you a young adult in your 20′s or 30′s? Do you want to learn more about Scripture, connect with others, and serve God in the world? If you are interested in being part of a young men’s, young women’s, or young couple’s small group, please email Jessica Konker.

COLLEGE READY INFORMATION MEETING -

During college everything changes. And we want students to stay grounded with good friends but have fun at the same time. From choosing a major and learning time management to dating and spiritual growth, it’s an entirely different
world. This class will be for all seniors in high school (seniors can invite their friends!). The class will be Sundays, April 7- May 19 at 5:00-6:15 pm. in Woody’s on the East Campus. There will be an informational meeting Sunday, February 17 after the 10:30 service in room 9 on the West campus. To register email Jessica Konker.

KEVIN’S MONTHLY MEN’S STUDY GROUP

Kevin’s monthly men’s group meets at 7:00pm in Room 137/138. Come join a time of study and fellowship. This group meets the 2nd Monday of each month and is open to all men.
