I think we all love stories. Jesus certainly did. I especially love stories that are true and that stir my imagination on how life can be lived more faithfully and more courageously.
For our summer sermon series I have selected some of the best stories from the scriptures that Jesus read. These are the true stories of how our ancestors of faith faced incredible adversity and opportunities. And they remind us how our own stories can be used to inspire others to trust God. In a very real sense, these tales are our own family history of faith. They tell us who we are and who God really is, and the best part is that they are true….they really happened, just like what happens in my life and your life every day.
