Greeter

Volunteer position description: Greet those coming to church before and after services on Sunday mornings

Time commitment: Depends on how many volunteer – currently about once a month, at either the 9 or 10:30 worship service

Skills or training needed: Willingness to serve, friendly attitude, dependability, welcoming

Spiritual gifts, passion that would best fit this position: Evangelism, hospitality. Outgoing personality likes people and wants to make them feel welcome

Usher

Volunteer position description: Greet people at doors to the sanctuary; hand out bulletins on Sunday mornings before worship; pick up bulletins, etc. left in the sanctuary after service; assist with taking up an offering during the service

Time commitment: Depends on how many volunteer but currently about once a month, at either the 9 or 10:30 service.

Spiritual gifts, a passion that would best fit this position: Helping, Outgoing and friendly; willing to assist those coming to worship no matter what the need (directions to restrooms, to children’s classes, etc.); must be dependable

Decoration Committee

Volunteer position description: Assisting with decorating the sanctuary/lobby areas for Christmas

Time Commitment: Any part of the week usually Thanksgiving week

Spiritual gifts, passion that would best fit this position: Helping. Serving, decorating, creating, implementing, improving, following a design

Hospitality

Volunteer position description: Various roles listed below. No experience necessary.

Juice and Donuts: Serves juice and donuts from 10 – 10:30 each Sunday.

Coffee: Serves coffee before and in between services on Sundays.

Parking Lot Welcoming Team: Be one of the first smiling faces people see as they come arrive Sunday mornings.

Information Booth Volunteer

Volunteer position description: Work at the Information Center in the lobby before and after 1 service, each Sunday

Time commitment: Depends on how many volunteers; currently serve before and after either the 9 or 10:30 services about once every 6 months.

Skills or training needed: Willingness to learn about church programs, who meets where, etc.; friendliness; willing to serve by trying to get answers people need on Sunday mornings or by helping them find class locations, etc.

Spiritual gifts, passion that would best fit this position: Helping, Hospitality, Giving, Encouragement, knowledge, Evangelism. Eagerness to help; desire to make people feel at home and to answer questions.

Sanctuary Choir Member

Volunteer position description: Looking for people that enjoy singing and a willingness to commit to rehearsals as they can. NO AUDITION to sing in the choir.

Time commitment: Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 9:00. And Sunday mornings from 8:40 – end of the 9:00 service.

Training needed: NONE! You don’t even need to be able to read music. Although having the ability to match pitches would be helpful.

Spiritual gifts, passion that would best fit this position: Encouragement.

Worship Team

Volunteer position description: Looking for instrumentalist and vocalist to lead worship during our contemporary worship. Would also need to audition for this position.

Time commitment: Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 8:30. When scheduled, Sunday mornings 7:45 – 8:45 and during the 10:30 service.

Training needed: A willingness to be a part of a team, learn music outside of rehearsal, and have the ability to play/sing with other musicians while comfortable leading in front of large groups of people.

Church Front Office Volunteer

Volunteer position description: Assist in the front office on the East Campus; answer phones; assist those who walk in; help with projects like mailings, weekly bulletins, special event prep, copying, and occasional filing

Time commitment: ½ day per week (Monday – Thursday)

Training needed: None.

Spiritual gifts, passion that would best fit this position: Administration, Hospitality, Helping. Outgoing Personality, Servant Attitude (no job is too little)

Tech Team Volunteer

Volunteer position description: Various roles listed below. No experience necessary.

Time commitment: One Sunday a month for both the 9:00am service and 10:30am. Roles needed: Audio Engineer, Camera Operator, Pro Presenter Operator (slides), Video Director, and Lighting operator.

*The Audio engineer and Pro Presenter operator are required to be at Thursday night band rehearsals as well as the Sunday services.

Dependability is huge here; the ability to focus on the job at hand and not be distracted; training will be provided.

Tech Team Volunteer roles are as follows:

Audio Engineers: Audio Engineers are responsible for how clearly and comfortably we project everything on stage to the congregation so they can worship freely in a comfortable distraction-free environment. 

Camera Operator: A camera operator is responsible for capturing shots of worship and the speakers on stage in a perspective not seen from the seats. Your camera shots go on the screen in the auditorium during services and well as to what online views.

Pro Presenter: A Pro Presenter operator help church attenders follow along in worship by providing the lyrics to songs as well as during the Message, by providing scripture references and sermon points. During service components you are in charge of graphics advertising up and coming events, service details and so on.

Video Director: Just like the camera operator a video director invites different perspectives of the service. Choosing camera shots that give better view of the Pastor and speakers on stage to creatively showing worship components. The video director then is to know good shots and guide your camera operators to create what you want seen.

Lighting Director: As lighting operator you are responsible for the mood of the service. From transitions of worship, to announcements, to videos; lighting invites a movement dynamic of service components. Specifically in worship, lighting helps lead the energy in the room.
